Summary

hey mr.g, my computer printer wasnt working so idecided to post the summary due tomorow on the blog.

Every Saturday since April 5th the Blazin’ Soccer Dogs practice from 10:00-12:00 am. Every Saturday morning I go and volunteer for the Blazin’ Soccer Dogs. There are other young people like myself that are helping teach the kids soccer skills and being their friend by encouraging them and cheering them on. A woman in Vancouver has donated all the uniform and soccer balls. Although this is a great deed its more than donating money that matters. I plan to tell lots of young people to come and volunteer. You can also help other people with special needs who aren’t on the team by getting to know them and developing friendship. This act should not be done out of pity but from a belief that you actually want to be there friend.

Entry Number One

Date: Monday May 5, 2008
Time: 3:45 PM to 5:00 (1 hour 15 mins.)
What Was Done:
Today I volunteered for the first time at The Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre. After school I went to the JCC with Marc Kalvari because I had a bar mitzvah class at 5:30. Although Marc is not my partner for this project I took this as an opportunity to get some hours in with him. We went down to the centre and we were guided to the library where we quickly got started sorting books so it would be easier for people to find them. Then Frieda came in and told us there was a more important job to be done so we started putting stickers with addresses on envelopes. It was very enjoyable because while we put on the stickers Marc and I got to talk. The time just flew by and it became 5:00 (Closing Time at VHEC). Marc and I left knowing we contributed to Tikkun Olam
