Book Talk

The Sea of Trolls by Nancy Farmer

This book is about Jack and his little sister Lucy who get captured by the ravaging berserkers who, when they take a potion, become half wolves for a night. Jack tries to keep Lucy safe and fights with the berserker that “owns” her. Meanwhile, Lucy is staying sane by sticking to the story that her father would always tell her, she is a lost princess and was abandoned in the woods when she was a baby. Finally, her soldiers are bringing her back to her castle and her “other” family. During this wild story Jack makes friends and learns that sometimes, you have to let things go and look beyond what the eye can see.
I would recommend this book to people who like adventure and suspense. You don’t need to be an advanced reader but if you don’t like long books then this isn’t right for you.
I found this book in the public library, it can also be found in a bookstore.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Author: Lemony Snicket

Book Talk

This book is filled with unfortunate events. I am sad to tell you, that the end that I would have hoped to be happy ended up unraveling into another mystery! There are 13 books in all. With each book there is another story. I love these books because they teach you things. Once you start reading you fall into the book. It grabs you like a giant. A Series of Unfortunate Events makes even the worse situations of all unravel into the best thing you can imagine!

(Read first paragraph)

(Read the back of the book)

I would recommend this to anyone 10 and up.

You can find these books here in our class. Our school library, and any public library including bookshops.
