Connotation of Detestation
Detestation and hatred are synonyms but they have different connotations. When you hate something you strongly dislike it but the thing does not make you physically ill. However when you detest something it means you hate it but also you get physically disgusted by it.

We as a group think that civilization is run by a government, who keeps things in order. A community is a part of civilization. Team work involves many people working together to keep things in order. In order to have a civilization everyone must do their part by having a job.

Shalom from Isreal!
Hi everybody,
Sam here, posting from the holy land. Sorry I haven’t posted sooner, but I’ve been really busy, and I still am, so I will quickly tell you the highlights of my trip so far.
My trip started with me catching up on my movie viewing on the 17-hour plane ride. Then, for the first 10 days of my trip I met just about every cousin I have in Israel (which is about 70 cousins!). In between the breakfasts, lunches and dinners with my cousins I also made it to Masada, the Dead Sea, the old city and the Kotel. I also got to see a synagogue that my great, great grandfather built.
The day I hiked Masada, unfortunately, it was about 42 degrees Celcius, so it was a challenge to keep hydrated. Floating in the Dead Sea was also fun. I went to the Kotel with my grandfather. It was really interesting because he lived in Israel before it was a state, so his perspective was very different then mine. I learned a lot from my grandpa when he was telling me about the synagogue his grandfather build. I went and saw it. It’s small but very nice and still used every day.
After the ten days of intense family, I took a vacation from my vacation and went to Eilat for a week. Eilat is at the bottom of Israel and is right on the border of Jordan and Egypt. Just as I were approaching Eilat, I saw anti-missile missiles pointed towards Iran. Eilat really fun. The first big thing I did there was shoot a sniper rifle at a shooting range, and my dad shot a glock (pistol). The next day I went snorkeling, it was really fun and there were some amazing fish. On the last day I was in Eilat it was 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit)! I spent most of that day trying not to melt.
That brings me to today. Today I went to see the Israel Museum. It was very cool. They had a miniature model of the old city during the time just before the second temple was destroyed (66 C.E.). Then I went to see the Dead Sea scrolls, the exhibit just put on display a scroll found near the Dead Sea, which is from about 120 B.C.E.
That is all the time I have, so bye and good luck on the masterpiece theater.

My Soulmate By:Matthew
My Soul mate
When the world is loud and makes no sense
It is the kite flying in the wind
It is the soft calming music that comforts me
It is the waves crashing upon the jagged rocks
When life makes no sense and is in a knot
It is the little voice that says everything is ok
It is the soft hand rubbing you on your back helping you back up
It is like a book that allows you to calm down and go into another world
When I am sad
You are my best friend
You are that scent that calms me
You are a beautiful flower that soothes me
When my surroundings become dark and solemn
You are the light that leads the way
You are the angel that makes all my thoughts go away
You are a friend that makes everything disappear
When I am by myself
You are my friend that allows me to explore by just sitting outside
You are always with me
You are a

Nobo's Storie
hey guy's i'm writing a book and I want you opinions, thnx! (there might be a few mistakes, just bare with me)
Magee's mind
Staring into the sunset out of my window on the last day of summer, wondering what my new school would be like this year, do they have a girl’s basketball team, will I be popular? But what I was most curios about, was if there was bullying at my new school.
Jumping with fear, I wake up to a very unpleasant sound, the sound of my noisy alarm clock. I walk over to the light switch and turned on the blinding lights and start to get dressed.
“Magee, what do you want for breakfast honey!” mom yelled from downstairs.
“I’ll have oatmeal mom,” I replied back.
By the way my mom and dad are the best of all parents, they bake for me, and they play with me, and they buy food to keep me healthy.
On my way to the first day of school my mom and I are discussing our expectations of the new school that I’m going to. While we reach the school I kiss my mom goodbye and walked into the building with mixed emotions.
After the anthems the class sat down into their desks and everybody introduced themselves by saying their name, where they are from and what their favorite food is. When it was my turn to say
“My name is Magee Anderson” I started.
“That name sounds like your eighty years old!” a girl behind me blurted out.
“Quiet Carla or you will be sent out,” Ms. Marks (my teacher) said.
Trying to ignore the interruption I continued.
“I’m from north
“No wonder you have that annoying accent!” the girl behind me yelled across the room again.
“I’m warning you Carla,” Ms. Marks demanded with more of a harsh tone. Holding in my tears I carry on.
“And my favorite food is deep fried banana”
“Ha! Your name stinks as much as what you eat, loser” Carla interrupted once more and this time the whole class burst out laughing.
“OUT OF MY CLASSROOM NOW CARLA!” yelled Ms. Marks.
While Carla walked out of the classroom she gave me a look that I will never forget.
Looking at the clock anxious to get out of class Ms. Marks reminded us about our homework for tomorrow. This doesn’t really concern me at the moment because I don’t even know if I’m going to school ever again. Finally, the bell rings.
Putting my binders in my locker I felt a firm grip on my shoulder and the last thing I remembered was my face slamming into a metal surface.
I open my eyes wondering where I was, my entire face in horrible pain and my head throbbing.
“I need to get out of here”, I thought to myself.
I pushed through the crowd and ran into the girl’s washroom, tears streaming down my face. I look into the mirror and stared, what I thought were tears was actually blood. I grab paper towel to soak my face, once I was all cleaned up I stepped out of the washroom and a teacher came rushing to my aid.
“My dear girl what happened to you?” the teacher asked.
“I tripped over my shoelace”, I lied to her
“We must call your parents at once’, the teacher demanded “No, no I’m fine I’ll wait till school ends”, I replied
“Ok, I’ll let you be now and take care of yourself,” she said calmly.
I decided to stay near a teacher for the rest of the day.
The bus ride home I sat at the back of the bus because I wasn’t going near Carla. Watching Carla come onto the bus she shoved another girl out of her spot and sat down. The whole bus ride home I kept my eye on Carla. When it was time for Carla to get off the bus I watched her walk into her home, that very moment was the first time I had felt bad for Carla. I saw that there wasn’t anyone home to make her dinner and her home was the size of my garage. Then I realized how lucky I was to have what I need in life. There was something inside me that made me want to reach out and help Carla.
That night there was something holding me back from telling my mom what happened at school today. I don’t really know what it was maybe she would have reported it to the school and Carla would get even madder at me.
The next morning I woke up to the same things my annoying alarm clock and the same set of clothes waiting for me on my bed and eating the same breakfast again.
Walking into school I feel a little more confident about myself but much more cautious than yesterday. During class Ms. Marks asked us to bring out our homework from yesterday. Carla and I were the only ones that didn’t do it.
During lunch I was sitting at a table all by myself when someone walked up with to me.
“So let me guess, you’ve come here to mess with me haven’t you!” I started at her.
“No actually I was hoping to talk to you about yesterday if you would mind,” the girl replied.
“O, I’m sorry please, sit down,” I said.
“Thank you” she said sitting down.
“Name’s Joel,” she told me.
“I’m Magee, nice to meet you,” I replied.
“Nice to meet you to Magee, so, I think you were really strong to handle what happened yesterday,” Joel told me.
“Thanks, but it sure hurt,” I replied.
“I would imagine it did, anyway you’ve probably figured out that Carla is the school bully,” she said.
“No kidding, what’s wrong with her?” I asked.
“Carla doesn’t live a very good life, her parents are divorced, her mom is severely sick and they can’t afford the experimental medicine to cure her,” she said.

Friends
To hold and share,
To laugh and smile,
To wear best friend rings,
Just hanging out,
Wear the same trends,
Drinking smoothies,
By making memories,
