Bye Bye Big Birdie

It was thanksgiving. All of the Sesame Street characters were gathered around the table, except for one.....

"Happy Thanksgiving everyone!" cried Elmo.
Oscar grumpily replied "Yes Yes.... Lets just eat!"
"Let the feast begin!" yelled Elmo "Bring out the food!"
Ernie and Bert walked in with trays of fruit and other yummy food.
"All right everyone, dig in!" yelled Ernie
For a few moments, there was silence. Every ones attention was fully devoted to the food on their plates.
"Where are the cookies?!" cried Cookie Monster after a few minutes "I WANT DESERT!"
"Hold on, hold on now, that was just the appetizers," Said Ernie "But the feats isn't over yet! All right Count, bring out the turkey!"

The Count walked in with not only a turkey, but also with an evil grin on his face.
"Courtesy of chef Ernie!" said Count.
"Smells great," Said Elmo "but wait, wasn't Big Bird coming to this dinner? You didn't forget to send Big Bird an invitation did you Bert?"
"No, of course not, Elmo!" said Bert
"He couldn't make it," Said the Count slyly.
"Who cares! I'm just starving so lets eat!" snapped Oscar.
"Count! I thought I told you! No drinking our friend's blood!" cried Elmo.
"It wasn't me! It was ERNIE!" retorted Count.
All eyes turned toward Ernie. Even Cookie Monster and Oscar were silent.
Ernie, who was stuffing his face (literally, he had trouble getting his head out) looked at them and said "What! I told you I'm broke and no one else cared to go buy a turkey. They thought touching it would be disgusting. What a bunch of wimps."
"All in favor of eating?" called Ernie
Everyone raised their hand except for Elmo.
"Well, I guess I could have a bite..." Said Elmo
Soon everyone was lying on the table or on the ground, to stuffed with Big Bird meat to move. "The turkey was a bit"-BURP-"dry." said Bert.
"Not surprising, since it was fake!" said a familiar voice.
"Big Bird!" they all cried.
"Yeah well, enjoy the sight of me while you can, because I'm leaving. I'm gonna go find a new gang to hang out with. GOOD BYE!"

And that is the story of how Big Bird left Sesame Street forever.... Or did he?
