The Young Giant

The Young Bigfoot and the Chuck Taylor’s

Today in a city not so far away, lived Thumbdunk, a boy who just isn’t strong and just isn’t tall. Whose only dream was to get into the NBA. There is only two problems for him one he is short and two he is weak. His family felt awful for him because he was constantly bullied, just because he was different. His family had tried everything from going to the doctor, feeding him tons and even putting him on a rusty green stretching board that his family had bought for him at an old garage sale a year ago. Everyday he would stretch on it for his arms and legs. The only thing that he hadn’t tried yet was steroids. Thumdunk didn’t like breaking the rules he was very honest except he was desperate to get into the NBA.

This morning the sun looked a bright as a lemon and the sky looked as clear and blue as water. Thumbdunk knew today was the day he would call Bigfoot and go with him for six years. In that time he would be trained, given steroids and watched intensively. These next six years would change Thumbdunks life like never before. Thumbdunks mind was stiring with great pictures of himself in a Sixers uniform right beside Iverson his favorite player of all time and his favorite team of all time too.

“Move faster Grandpa” yelled Thumbdunk in stressed out voice
“I’m going as fast is a can. Go to the washroom its going to be a long drive into town. O and don’t forget your bags bring them downstairs. I can only do so much.” said Grandpa in an aggravated voice
“Fine ill go get my bags. You know Grandpa I’m not a little kid anymore. I know when I have to go to the washroom.” said Thumbdunk
“I’m almost ready to go. You better get a move on it if you don’t want to be late.” said grandpa
Thumbdunk ran up the stairs to his bedroom as fast as his little white feet could carry him. He tried to grab his bag but couldn’t so he stood at the back of it and pushed and pushed but the bag just wouldn’t budge. Then Thumbdunk thought of something, he owns a German Shepard named Kellie. She could push the bag with her brown and gold snout.

“Kellie!” said Thumdunk

No later than a second after he called her. Kellie sprinted with her long dark black legs as fast as she could and ran right over Thumbdunk. He hit her and she immediately stopped and sat. Thumbdunk pointed towards the bag and Kellie pushed it down the stairs.

“Okay grandpa lets go.” said Thumbdunk

“Finally! Get in the car.” said Grandpa in an aggravated voice

“Were did Bigfoot say he would meet us?”

“I think he said he would meet us at B.C. place.” said Thumbdunk

“Okay. O I think that’s him over there.” said grandpa

“You mean that big black fluffy thing that looks like it its seven feet tall?” said Thumbdunk in an astonished voice

“Yeah! I think that’s him. Ill drop you around the back.” said grandpa

“Okay! said Thumbdunk

Grandpa unrolled his window to talk to Bigfoot, but the Bigfoot was too tall so he got out of the car.

“So how much is it again” said grandpa in a sigh
“One thousand dollars, but you can pay me after” said Bigfoot in his deep voice
“No! Here is the money, this better work.” said grandpa
“Bye Thumbdunk, have a great time!” said grandpa
Thumbdunk ran and hugged his grandpa so hard he could feel his heart beat it felt like a baseball that didn’t stop bouncing.

Bigfoot grabbed thumbdunk and put him on his back. Bigfoot’s hair almost suffocated Thumbdunk. He felt like he was in sand except hairy sand.

“So this is my home well technically cave. Go take a look inside. Make yourself comfortable.” Said Bigfoot
“Thanks, its very nice. When do we start training.” said Thumbdunk
“How about we give you some steroids right now and then you eat and go to bed. Tomorrow we will do some training to strengthen those scrawny arms and legs.” said Bigfoot
“Okay that sounds good with me.” said Thumbdunk in the happiest voice he could think of
“Come over here an ill give you some growth hormones.” said Bigfoot
“Will it hurt.” Said Thumbdunk
“Get over here you little baby.” said Bigfoot
Thumbdunk took one look at the needle and was out cold. So Bigfoot put him on his bed and injected the needle into him.

The next morning
“Wake up!” said Bigfoot in a loud voice
“What its five thirty in the morning.” said Thumbdunk in a frustrated voice
“Training starts today get up put on your clothes meet me downstairs in five.” said Bigfoot
“Drink that!” said Bigfoot
The contents of the glass were gross, it looked like egg and juice was in there and something that was light brown.
“No!” said Thumbdunk
“Yes, do it now. Or else I will shove it down your throat.” said Bigfoot
“Okay, fine!” said Thumbdunk
He drank the whole glass and almost gagged. It tasted like raw egg with juice that had already expired and something soft and chewy.
“Lets start training.” said Bigfoot
“Okay, what should we do first.” said Thumbdunk
“Lets do crunches it should help your worthless abs.” said Bigfoot
Thumbdunk started to do crunches, with every crunch came a feeling that something was pulling his abs together and squeezing them tight, but he kept going and ended up doing fifty.
“Okay the now lets just play one on for the rest of the day.” said Bigfoot
“Sounds good with me!” said Thumbdunk
For the next six years their routine was the same they would do one exercise a day and then a game for the rest of the day.
**
One night Bigfoot dropped Thumbdunk to his grandpa and grandmas house.
“Thanks for everything.” said Thumbdunk
“It was fun!” said Bigfoot
“Bye Bigfoot.” said Thumbdunk
“Bye!” said Bigfoot
Thumbdunk ran to his room and went to bed. He was really tired.
“Your so tall. Basketball tryouts our right now! Let’s go.” Said Grandpa
“Okay!” said Thumbdunk
The drive felt to short because the only thing that was on his mind was will the coach figure out what he had been up to. They arrived at the gym right on time.
“Hey coach Red” said Thumbdunk
“Your huge, how did you grow so fast” said Coach Red
“I have no clue at all” said Thumbdunk
“Let’s start, everyone on the three throw line. First of all this is my assistant Coach Helen.” Said coah Red
“Lets see who can dunk.” said coach Red
Everyone had dunked and Thumbdunk was the last. He ran to the hoop and jumped. The only problem was that when he came down so did the net.
“Out!” said coach Red
“I’m really sorry.” Said Thumbdunk
“Its okay!” said coach Helen
Coach Helen and Thumbdunk both left. They dated for a year and then got married at The Four Seasons.

They lived happily ever after.
